What Can I Learn?

Through adult education in the Far South West, you can study:

  • Courses to help you get work, change jobs or return to work.
  • Computer courses and the internet.
  • How to improve your English and Maths.
  • English as a second language.
  • General interest subjects such as languages, literature, music, health, personal development, art and craft, and other recreational and leisure pursuits.

 

Southern Grampians Adult Education
Southern Grampians Adult Education (SGAE) is a community based adult education centre located in Hamilton servicing the whole of the shire of Southern Grampians with a core value of delivering accessible, quality and timely learning in community settings.
SGAE offers a range of adult, community and further education programs in the catergories of literacy and numeracy, preparing for work or study, vocationally orientated classes and general adult education classes in the recreational/leisure and hobby areas. All classes are user friendly and are directed towards small groups pursuing learning is fun, "Lifelong Learning" ethos.
Classes are conducted in Hamilton, and in the surrounding towns of Coleraine, Dunkeld, Glenthompson, Penshurst, Balmoral, Branxholme and Harrow.

 

 
WorkSkills Portland
WorkSkills is a major provider of Adult and Community Education in Portland and its district. A Registered Training Organisation, WorkSkills delivers a wide range of general and accredited courses to learners throughout the year.
Accredited programs include courses such as Certificate 11 in Information Technology, Certificate 11 in Community Services (Childcare) and Certificate 11 in Retail Operations. A program involving all facets of Creative Writing also runs throughout the year.
WorkSkills also deliveers a range of Literacy and Numeracy programs. Likewise, regular Introduction to Computers and Internet, Intermediate and Advanced Computer programs, Desktop Publishing, and Web Page Design courses are also available to learners.
A diverse range of recreational programs is also available. WorkSkills can link you to Yoga, Wood Turning, Lead Lighting, Quilting, Photography, Painting, Theatre, Book Discuion Groups, Music, Poetry, Tours of historic Portland and more!
